Project CONNECT and Project SOAR will provide scholarship tuition assistance for coursework to approved recipients. The tuition assistance will cover all but $100 of the cost per course. Scholarship recipients are required to sign a commitment form as part of the enrollment process. Recipients must complete all four courses with a C or better, pass the ESL Praxis and apply for an ESL Endorsement.

Grant Funding

Project CONNECT and Project SOAR are both funded through the National Professional Development Grant and Office of English Language Acquisition, U. S. Department of Education. Our overarching purpose is to improve teachers’ pedagogy for English learners. All coursework assignments are applicable to the students in your classroom. There will be coaching opportunities provided by project staff to support long-term implementation of best practices for English Learners.

Project CONNECT and Project SOAR will provide PK-12th grade Arkansas licensed in-service teachers and educators with skills and knowledge to meet the instructional needs of students whose first language is not English.
