The process to enroll in online courses varies depending on whether you are in an
online degree program, an on-campus degree program or no degree program. Chose your
path below or reach out to an Online Student Liaison for help.

I am an online student taking courses for my online degree program.
Which Online Courses Can I Take?
Online degree-seeking students may enroll in open online courses during their scheduled Registration Period.
- Online courses offered by the Fulbright College of Arts & Sciences reserved for online students have even numbered section numbers
(e.g. ENGL 1013 Section 902). - Undergraduate online degree-seeking students will meet with your adviser virtually, and then the adviser will remove the enrollment holds from your account.
- Graduate online degree-seeking students will receive registration instructions from their program coordinators.
How Do I Apply?
- Create an account in either the Undergraduate application portal or the Graduate application portal.
Within the application select Online as the program delivery type. - As a student in an online degree program, you will be eligible to sign up for online course sections reserved for online students.
How Do I Pay?
You will pay through your Student Center in UAConnect.
You can also sign up for payment plans.
- Can I use financial aid for my courses?
Yes, degree seeking students qualify for financial aid. - All students may contact the financial aid office for assistance.
I am a current U of A student taking courses in an on-campus degree program.
What if I want to take only online courses in the summer?
Taking only online classes in the summer does not change your residency status, your degree program type (on campus), or how your tuition is calculated.
Which Online Courses Can I Take?
Current U of A students taking courses on campus can enroll in online classes. Please discuss the number of online courses you may take with your adviser.
- Online courses offered by the Fulbright College of Arts & Sciences reserved for campus students have odd numbered section numbers
(e.g. ENGL 1013 Section 901).
If a campus student tries to enroll in an even numbered online section, they will receive an error message for a prerequisite of an online program.
- Any unfilled seats from the section reserved for online students (ex: 902) will be made available to the sections reserved for on campus students (ex: 901) the Friday before a class starts. The seats are first come first served when released.
How Do I Pay?
You will pay through your Student Center in UAConnect.
You can also sign up for payment plans.
- Can I use financial aid for my courses?
Yes, degree seeking students qualify for financial aid. - All students may contact the financial aid office for assistance.
I want to take one or more courses for an endorsement or licensure.
Which Online Courses Can I Take?
Online non-degree-seeking students may enroll in open online courses during their
scheduled Registration Period.
Non-degree-seeking students are not assigned an adviser.
- If you have enrollment holds on your account or cannot enroll in a course due to a
prerequisite hold, you may schedule an appointment with an adviser.
Eligible advisers will be identified during the orientation process.
- You will meet with your adviser virtually, and then the adviser will remove the enrollment holds from your account.
- Online courses offered by the Fulbright College of Arts & Sciences reserved for online students have even numbered section numbers
(e.g. ENGL 1013 Section 902).
How Do I Apply?
If you are not a current University of Arkansas student and want to take an online class or classes, you will need to apply for admission as a non-degree-seeking student.
- Select the Graduate Admissions Application
- Select Start a New Application - see instructions below
- Create an account using personal e-mail at the bottom of the page
- Activate your account with the PIN sent to your e-mail.
- Click Start New Application at the bottom of the page
- Select the appropriate Application Type:
- Walton College of Business Graduate Application
- Non-degree Graduate School Application
- Graduate School Application
- Start a Non-Degree Graduate School Application
- Under Term Information, select "Yes" to study primarily online as a non-degree seeking student.
How Do I Pay?
You will view your account and financial aid information in UAConnect.
You can also sign up for payment plans.
Students enrolled as online non-degree seeking will pay in-state tuition.
- Can I use financial aid for my courses?
No, non-degree-seeking students do not qualify for financial aid.
I want to transfer a course back to my home institution.
Which Online Courses Can I Take?

How To Enroll
Students will enroll in courses through UAConnect.
Access to UAConnect is limited to admitted students.
- Review courses available in the current Schedule of Classes.
The Session and Start Date are listed for each course. - Online classes follow the same Academic Calendar as campus classes.
- When searching for courses students can filter the results by selecting Online Classes.
- Review the class enrollment Help Guide from the UAConnect knowledge base.
Accessing Your Course(s)
- Login to Blackboard Learn on the first day of class.
- Don't see your course?
Follow these trouble-shooting steps to find your Blackboard courses.
