This graduate microcertificate can benefit agricultural educators, extension agents, industry-based trainers and consultants, information specialists and technology-management professionals as well as students enrolled in Bumpers College graduate degree programs. It expands knowledge of education, leadership and communication.

Students will be able to:

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the philosophy of the U.S. land grant system and the Cooperative Extension Service.
  • Develop extension education skills through practical experiences supervised by extension education experts.
  • Demonstrate improved knowledge and skills related to agricultural leadership and/or agricultural communications.

 

Required Courses 6 hours

  • AGED 50503 - Philosophy of Agricultural and Extension Education
  • EXED 5750V - Internship in Extension

Plus one course 3 hours from the following list of electives:

  • ACOM 52403 - Graphic Design in AFLS
  • AGED 54403 - Principles of Technological Change
  • AGLE 50303 - Developing Leadership in Agricultural Organizations

Or from the following courses taught by other institutions that are part of the IDEA Consortium (may have different tuition costs and fees).
