"Overall, the program has made me a better leader, manager and ultimately a more rounded person."
For Price Balderson, earning his online Master of Science in Operations Management degree was very beneficial toward his career growth.
“I began my Master of Science in Operations Management upon being stationed at Naval Support Activity in Millington, Tennessee,” Balderson said. With many graduate education options to choose from, he decided that a live class experience with talented instructors and a convenient location on base was right for him.
Up to that point, he had served in the Navy for 14 years as an Officer and Helicopter pilot. He felt that he had possessed a wide range of leadership and technical acumen.
“However, with my undergraduate degree in English, I was slightly intimidated to pursue a technical masters, but the experience could not have been more seamless,” Balderson said.
The M.S.O.M. program served to sharpen his existing skills while providing fantastic opportunities for new learning in Finance, Project Management and Human Resources. These disciplines will serve him well moving forward in his Naval Career, as he become a senior leader and focus on a wide range of problems.
“Overall, the program has made me a better leader, manager and ultimately a more rounded person. These advantages will serve to advance me in my career but have also reinvigorated a quest for lifelong learning,” Balderson said.
